At Hotel Nymphenburg you are genuinely an honoured guest. Herr van de Kemp and his remarkable team are the 'Soul' of the hotel and they ensure a relaxed and comfortable stay. After travelling for days (not quite from Antarctica), enduring the indignities of air travel, security checks, immigration etc, to finally arrive at the HoteI Nymphenburg's blue awning and step through the double doors into the foyer . . . smile, everything will be ok. Hotel Nymphenburg people are natural, kind, thoughtful and good humoured (Hello Suli!!). Now, the hotel is definitely 20th century and the rooms are compact, BUT, they are immaculately clean (Hello Maria and the chambermaids!!), and charmingly fitted out. On the very top floor is The Blue Suite and from there you can watch New Year' Eve Fireworks from windows on both sides, magical!! Herr van de Kemp, so passionate about Music, Opera, Concerts, has a stunning collection of over 3000 related, original posters. They line the walls of the central staircase (there is a lift), but do use the stairs, they provide an ever changing gallery of magnificent poster art. The Breakfast Room serves a generous and varied smorgasbord in the mornings; becomes somewhere to have coffee and cake in the afternoon; and then later, in the evening, becomes a bar. Quite taken with how, as you walk into the breakfast room, other guests look up from their tables, staff turn around, you are greeted with a smile and "Guten Morgen", so welcoming. The one tip I have :) is not to stay abed too late into the morning - not all the guests can be seated for breakfast at the one time

This is a very conveniently located hotel, with a lot of local charm. The best thing about it is the proprietor and the staff. They do everything to make your stay excellent. You don’t get this kind of personal care in a large or corporate hotel. I had a superb visit with them at this hotel and look forward to returning.

A very great stay and would strongly recommend. Very friendly front desk .. all of them especially Anna who provided us with umbrellas to go sight seeing on a rainy morning. Free moneral water and excellent breakfast are a fantastic bonus. Suly in breakfast room is a great human being.. The Indian restuarant Taj Mahal is worth mentioning here. Friendly staff everywhere. Go for it💕💕💕

It’s a simple hotel with small rooms, but the location and staff were excellent! The decor is very intriguing, the breakfast room had amazing framed original costume designs, with fabric scraps attached, from plays and operas. The food was lovely, coffee good, and space warm and inviting.

Stayed for a couple of days for Oktoberfest. The hotel itself is fairly standard but the posters for the cultural events from days gone by were really interesting and a great touch. The room was clean and the bed fine, the breakfast was ok. The staff were pleasant and courteous, no complaints here. It is a walkable distance to the city centre from this hotel as well, and there are numerous restaurants in the vicinity.
